The digital in sociology
The omnipresence of digital technology in daily life has greatly inspired sociologists.
Zygmunt Bauman, a Polish philosopher , introduced the concept of “liquid modernity”, very present in debates on digital technology. The idea is that we are entering a fluid post-modernity, also called “liquid modernity”. Individuals escape from fixed positions, their trajectories change: profession, emotional partner and values evolve.
Can a machine act intelligently? Are human intelligence and AI the same? Can a machine have a mind, state of mind, and consciousness similar to that of a human?
