Story Summary

The plot begins with a tragic accident when Khush Bakht accidentally shoots and kills the eldest son of powerful landlord Dilawar Khan. Unable to pay the heavy blood money, the tribal council (Jirga) decrees that Khush Bakht must give his innocent 12-year-old daughter, Hanim, in a Vani marriage to Dilawar's 17-year-old son, Aksam Khan.

Understanding Hanim's complete innocence and childish nature, Aksam stands up to tribal traditions and his father's strict mindset. He and his mother protect Hanim, enrolling her in a city school. As Aksam falls deeply in love with her, he makes the selfless choice to move to Canada for a decade to pursue medical studies, giving Hanim time to mature and complete her education.

During his absence, Hanim completes her Master's degree and single-handedly raises Ahmer's orphaned son, Thumama. When Aksam returns as a successful heart specialist, past misunderstandings clear away, reuniting them in a beautiful, permanent bond of love and respect.
