Story Summary

The plot centres around a strict, traditional haveli ruled by patriarchal norms that suppress women and deny them education:

• Saleha & Wajdan: Saleha, an ambitious girl who dreams of becoming a teacher, sees her hopes crushed when her grandfather bans female education. To marry his own love, Wajeeha, Saleha’s brother Haider forces a Watta Satta (exchange marriage), tying Saleha to Wajeeha’s brother, Wajdan Qureshi. Though devastated initially, Saleha discovers Wajdan is a gentle, supportive partner who encourages her education and secures her a teaching job, leading to a deep romantic union.

• Riffat & Sharjeel: Riffat is brought to the haveli as Wani (blood money) for a past crime and forced to marry Sharjeel. Contrary to the family's cruel nature, Sharjeel stands by Riffat, protecting her honour and elevating her to his true wife.
