Stimulating passive vocabulary. Many people know the meaning of the words “artsy”, “florid” or “metamorphosis”, but they rarely use them in normal communication. These expressions are the passive vocabulary of the individual. The more a person hears such words, the more he applies in practice. English words fall into the category of passive, therefore, using them during mental work (reading) leads to the activation of the passive segment and turning it into a standard set of phrases.
