What is Nucleus in Cell

 

In animals cell it is present in center of the cell. In plants it is present at side due to presence of large vacuole.

 

Structure:

 

  1. i) A nuclear membrane is present outside of the nucleus. It give the shape and support to nucleus.
  2. ii) Nuclear pores are used for transportation of materials from cytoplasm to nucleus.

iii) Nucleoplasm is a jelly like substance which contain chromosomes, nucleolus etc.

 

Function:

 

  1. i) It controls all the activities of the cell.
  2. ii) It plays important role in cell division or cell reproduction.

 

Stimulating passive vocabulary. Many people know the meaning of the words “artsy”, “florid” or “metamorphosis”, but they rarely use them in normal communication. These expressions are the passive vocabulary of the individual. The more a person hears such words, the more he applies in practice. English words fall into the category of passive, therefore, using them during mental work (reading) leads to the activation of the passive segment and turning it into a standard set of phrases.
