Zygmunt Bauman, a Polish philosopher , introduced the concept of “liquid modernity”, very present in debates on digital technology. The idea is that we are entering a fluid post-modernity, also called “liquid modernity”. Individuals escape from fixed positions, their trajectories change: profession, emotional partner and values evolve.

The consequences of this “fluidity” can be found in the weakening of traditional protections, family values or even commitments. For the philosopher, individuals now favor change, mutation, rather than the status quo . Digital is one of the key elements of these social transformations, through immediate access to previously unavailable resources.
