The Open College of the Arts Barnsley UK
About:
The Open College of the Arts was founded in 1987 by Michael Yan, Lord Yan of Dartington, the driving force behind numerous education and training initiatives such as the Consumers Association, the National Producer College and The Open University.
Jung’s original vision was to offer the general public the opportunity to take high quality arts courses through distance learning without pre-qualification or restrictions.
More than 2,000 students study creative and visual arts courses and degrees each year by opening study with us. The OCA strategy is determined by the Board of Trustees. Our head offices are on the site of a former mine in Barnsley, South Yorkshire and all of our teachers work from their homes or studios.
The University for Creativity (UCA) is one of the UK’s leading specialist universities offering a variety of courses in art, architecture, communication, design and media across five university campuses in the South East of England.
When you register, you become part of the OCA Student Association (OCASA), which acts as the voice of the students. The college takes student representation seriously. The President of OCASA attends our board meetings so the voice of the student is heard at the highest levels.
