The first reaction of pupils who receive a school tablet is natural: they see this object as a source of entertainment or communication with others, before designing it as a learning tool!

It is therefore important to set up rules that can translate into a kind of charter for its use in class, but also outside of school, in order to define the role of this tool and its use. This “use code” for the tablets must also be shared with the parents if the children are authorized to take the tool home.

You should also take the time to discuss with students the conditions of use of mobile devices, which can help or harm learning or people, and draw their attention to the dangers of the Internet and overexposure to screens.
