Concretely, 5G will use more frequencies and different frequencies than its predecessors . From a more technical point of view, 5G will use several bands: 3.5 GHz, 700 MHz and 2.1 GHz, already allocated to 4G, then, eventually, the 26 GHz band. Each of them has its own characteristics. Thus, the 700 MHz band is for example that which provides the best mobile coverage. The 26 GHz offers the best throughput. Through these new bands, 5G will relieve congestion on the 4G network , which is already close to saturation. The increase in throughput will be significant.
