Structure:
- i) Outer membrane of mitochondria is smooth.
- ii) Inner membrane is greatly folded in the mitochondrial materials.
iii) They are small rounded particles called cristae
Function:
They are called power house of the cell. They contain respiratory enzymes which oxides the food and release energy. This energy is used to perform different activities of life.
