About
Windesheim is one of the best universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands with many top ranked undergraduate programs. Windesheim has over 27,000 full-time and part-time students and is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands.
Windesheim is a vibrant community that brings people together to share knowledge and experiences. We aim to train students who are fully qualified professionals ready to enter the international job market. To this end, we continuously invest in educational innovation and student development.
Two major independent annual surveys of the Dutch higher education sector, Elsevier and The Guide to Higher Education Choices, have ranked us among the top three for many years in a row. One of the factors of our success is an individual approach: students work in small classes (15-20 people), and every talent matters. Lecturers are not only teachers, but also trainers. They encourage students to reflect, think critically, and push themselves to their limits. We are focused on personalized education that meets the requirements of our students, the labor market and society as a whole. Our approach is based on competency-based learning and an individual development plan for each student.
Windesheim is a dynamic learning community. We offer state-of-the-art facilities to our students, including student counseling, a media center, plenty of room for group work, a virtual learning environment, a copy shop, and a stationery, sweets, and gift shop. Our students are impressed by the excellent sports facilities on campus: we have gyms, fitness rooms, karate and judo dojos, indoor football halls, a heated pool and a climbing wall. Our campus has restaurants serving fresh food and drinks. In addition, we have a sports café and our own Grand Café, which serves the highly regarded Starbucks coffee.
