It depends on experienced teachers who understand your individual needs as a student; and then with flexibility and the ability to adapt to them, helping you learn as much as possible. We have a team of such teachers – enthusiastic, well-qualified and caring – and have developed courses and teaching methods that inspire, motivate, and, above all, deliver the language progress you want.
The minimum age of students is 20; Typical Age Range 22 – 55; The average age is 28-35. During the academic year, all classes have a maximum of 6, the average is 4-5 people; summer (July/August) morning classes only at max. 8, Ave. 5-6 people. Severnvale accepts a maximum of 40 adults at any one time – typical figures are between 22 and 35 at most times of the year. All lessons are 45 minutes long. Facilities are extremely convenient and include 9 auditoriums, computer and listening centers, a library, separate lounges for smokers and non-smokers, a sun terrace, etc.
Shrewsbury is one of the finest medieval towns in England. The regional capital with a population of 100,000 – in the city center with no regional focus – is not yet dominated by tourism and with only one accredited language school – the Severnvale Academy. This is a place where total immersion is truly possible. We give students a complete introduction to their stay in England – All tours are led by senior Severnvale staff – Shrewsbury is not a big, dangerous city
We go to some of the best amusement parks in the UK – Tours don’t just mean seeing things – they mean doing things too – full day tours usually include 2 or 3 different activities – everything is included in the course price – no hidden extras!
We use high quality venues for sports, for swimming, for movies, for football matches – We put on big barbecues – eat-as-many-as-you-want at no extra charge – We have brilliant discos – WE enjoy it all too !
We care that learning happens: we don’t just keep our students comfortably busy – Our teachers are all qualified and enthusiastic, and know how to motivate young people – We have a very international environment – often 18 to 20 different nationalities here at the same time We are a small school. Our youth center is limited to 95 students so we can know each one personally – Classes are small as well: guaranteed maximum 12 per class; there are usually 9 or 10 – In our curriculum design, doing and enjoying are vital elements – they are not just left to chance – Staff monitor each student’s progress; we keep spaces open in the upper classes for promotion – We set the task and we check that it is done:
